The Ticking Clock

The Ticking Clock by local author Jody Gehrman is a bold, fast paced ensemble play that explores the many dimensions of motherhood, choice, and identity through a series of powerful monologues and a few ensemble scenes. Inspired by real interviews, the script features a wide range of characters--teens, mothers, non-mothers, elders and more--each offering a unique perspective. Most of the show is made up of monologues, with actors playing multiple roles across age, background, and tone. This is a true ensemble piece that values versatility, empathy, and strong storytelling.
